Flin Flon City Council took care of some housekeeping at their regular meeting Tuesday evening. Here is a recap: Council voted to donate the fire department's 1963 Ford Fire Truck to the Flin Flon Station Museum. A motion carried to allow Manitoba Hydro to install a 100-watt light at Rotary Park. Coun. Dave Law noted that the pole will be located toward the centre of the park, shedding light on the playground equipment. See 'Votes' P.# Con't from P.# Council voted to purchase a $50 wreath to be placed by a City representative at this year's Remembrance Day service at the R.H. Channing Auditorium. Coun. Dave Kennedy mentioned that it's Fire Prevention Week and reminded the public of the importance of checking smoke alarms. Coun. Kennedy commented on last week's RCMP community forum, at which the public offered ideas on solving crime, saying "hopefully we'll see some positive results from that." Council renewed airport rental agreements with Thrifty Car Rental, Calm Air and Bearskin Airlines. Also renewed were hanger lot lease agreements with Barry Smith and Rob Robinson. Mayor Dennis Ballard showed some mementoes the City has received from the RCMP in honour of Flin Flon's hosting the RCMP Musical Ride in August. The City received a framed photo of the participating officers and two special certificates.7/10/04
