The year 2003 was another very productive year for the Flin Flon Hospital Auxiliary. There are 26 members in this group and they are busy fundraising by maintaining the drink machine in the hospital, having tag days, bingos, selling knitting on the maternity ward, as well as holding a Christmas Shoppers Tea every year. For 2003 the bulk of the money earned went towards two major pieces of equipment for the hospital. According to the auxiliary president Sally Popp the equipment was ordered a long time ago, but was delayed in coming in. Yesterday, some members of the hospital auxiliary presented Laurelle Oulette, the nurse manager of Medical/ Pediatrics/ Chemotherapy and Dialysis, with a Therma Array Recorder valued at $2,713, for the Chemotherapy Unit. The auxiliary has also ordered a scanning table for the Ultra Sound department worth $5,216. They are still waiting for the table to come in. Anyone interested in becoming a member of this worthwhile organization can give Sally or any member of the auxiliary a call and find out when their next meeting will be.
