The Creighton School Board will vote next week on the potential addition of a high school program at Creighton Community School. Chair Terry Brown said yesterday that the matter will be decided at the board's next meeting on Tuesday, December 16, to be held in the conference room at Creighton school. Brown said the trustees will take into account input gathered at public meetings before reaching a decision. The meetings will take place at the Creighton school gymnasium tonight (for parents of Creighton school students) and tomorrow (for Creighton School Division ratepayers). Meetings were also planned with students and staff of the school. Under the tuition agreement between the Creighton and Flin Flon school divisions, Creighton must tell Flin Flon by January 1 how many students to expect from the Saskatchewan side, Brown said. Some 130 Creighton and Denare Beach students currently attend high school in Flin Flon because Creighton does not offer schooling beyond grade 9. If the board votes in favour of the high concept, grades 10, 11 and 12 would be added to Creighton Community School, one year at a time, beginning in September 2004.
