September has arrived and after a short, summer hiatus, the Healthy Flin Flon Community Forum is ready to run again! On Monday, September 13 from 12:00-1:00 at the Friendship Centre, community members will have the opportunity to listen to guest speaker Peter Jones, CEO of Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting, speaking on "Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Status and Challenges". This is a great opportunity for community members to learn more about HBMS, and a great opportunity to ask questions. In addition to our guest speaker, the September Community Forum will also include time for community roundtable sharing. This is an important part of the forum that allows individuals to network; to share upcoming events and programs; to introduce new community programs or workers; to solicit volunteers for upcoming community projects; and to voice concerns and ask for community input. The Community Forum is a great place to learn more about what is happening your community. It runs on the first Monday of every month over the noon hour at the Friendship Centre and is open to all community members free of charge. On Monday, September 13, come and take part in the Healthy Flin Flon Community Forum. By sharing ideas and information, and partnering together, we can enhance the health of our community. For more information, contact Christa McIntyre, Healthy Flin Flon Chair, at 687-9318.
