In celebration of Flin Flon's 80th anniversary and the Writers' Guild's 30th, the Flin Flon Writers' Guild is publishing a book of work by local writers. The aim is to have the book in hand for the Trout Festival in 2014. The first step in the creation of this book is a call for submissions to the book. All writers in the Flin Flon area are encouraged to submit their writing for publication in the book. The editorial committee will work with submitting writers to polish the work as needed. Submission Guidelines: _ One submission per person. _ÊLength: poems should be less than six pages and prose should be no more than 1,200 words. _ All submissions must be accompanied by an author's biography of 50 words or less. _ÊThere are no age restrictions. Writing is welcome in any genre or style, with the caveat that the writing must be appropriate for readers of all ages. In order to offset publication costs, people whose submissions are accepted for the book will be asked to pre-purchase the book at a discounted cost of $20. Any other individuals interested in pre-purchasing copies of the book may do so as well. Submissions should be e-mailed (as MS Word documents) to [email protected] no later than Dec. 31, 2013. Any questions may also be directed to that address.
