Eight students recently graduated from the Pre-Employment Welding Program with Northlands College in Creighton, which ran from September 8, 2009 to June 4, 2010. The program was accredited by SIAST Woodland Campus and funded by Saskatchewan Skills Extension Program, Multi-Party Training Plan and Northlands College. The course was instructed by Stuart Rutherford. Upon successful completion of the Pre-Employment Welding program, graduates are prepared to meet initial fabrication and repair demands in the welding industry. They may find employment in refineries, the construction industry, pulp and paper mills, manufacturing plants, processing plants, mines or repair shops.
