In just a matter of weeks, in the neighbourhood of 200 area young people will enter an exciting new phase of their lives. High school graduation is just around the corner in Flin Flon, Cranberry Portage, and Snow Lake. Here is an update on how the graduation events are shaping up at each school. Hapnot Collegiate Projected graduating class: as many as 101 students Graduation night guest speaker: Reid Simpson, professional hockey player and Hapnot graduate Valedictorian: Andrew Macfarlane Fundraisers: they've included a Christmas tea, Dinner Theatre, and the Fashion Show. Graduation ceremony: Tuesday, June 29, with a safe grad celebration to follow, both at the Whitney Forum. Many Faces Education Centre Projected graduating class: about 40 students Graduation night guest speaker: Marie-Josee Morneau, former Many Faces teacher Valedictorian: Britt Lyons Fundraisers: they've included a 50/50 draw as well as a car wash and flea market. Graduation ceremony: Monday, June 28, at the R.H. Channing Auditorium Frontier Collegiate (Cranberry Portage) Graduating class: 39 students Graduation banquet guest speaker: Brian McMillan, a physical education teacher at the school Valedictorian: Jenna Fullerton, who was handed the honour by having the highest grade point average in her senior classes Ñ 92.5 per cent Graduation ceremony: Saturday, June 26, in the school gymnasium. Joseph H. Kerr School (Snow Lake) Projected graduating class: 21 students Graduation night guest speaker: John Kerr, a language arts teacher at the school Valedictorians: Kari Assoignon and Riley Eastman Fundraisers: they've included food and ornament sales as well as a raffle. Graduation ceremonies: Saturday, June 19, in the school gymnasium, with a social to follow at the Laurie Marsh Community Hall.
