Anna McEachern makes a donation to the Flin Flon Fire Department’s Boot Drive last Friday, Sept. 11 as Scotiabank’s Faith Krahn and firefighter Kelly Willetts look on. The fundraiser, held on Third Avenue near KFC, raised $16,200 to be split between Habitat 53°, the local branch of Habitat for Humanity, and the Women’s Resource Centre. The fire department organized the event and received assistance from Scotiabank, which provided $5,000 in matching funds toward the campaign. “It’s significant for a one-day drive,” said Connie Nelson, manager of customer service for Scotiabank’s Flin Flon branch. “People in Flin Flon are just so generous.”
