The Northern Buffalo Sculpture Gallery, the newest business in Cranberry Portage, is effectively open today. Originally the grand opening of Irvin Head's new gallery had been slated for the May long weekend. Irvin had many of the artists represented in his gallery coming to attend. However, a death in Irvin's family has changed the grand opening till the end of June. At present Irvin is showcasing about 12 artists from northern Manitoba. Irvin has installed many lights so that the details of the art pieces can be readily seen. This gallery is not only for Aboriginal artists. As Irvin said, "I want to carry a wide variety of cultures, different styles and customs. We live together and we need to do things together. This will benefit all peoples." If a local artist is interested in having their work displayed for a week or so, contact Irvin and he will arrange something with the artist.
