French students take honours at film fest

The R.H. Channing Auditorium looked more like a French cinema last month thanks to the 2013 Boreal Film Festival. Throughout the two-day festival, area students from French Immersion and Basic French classes took in a series of films. They even produced their own cinematic shorts. The winners were: Best Basic French Film 1st - La Petite Souris (The Little Mouse) - Chayse Busby, Damian Ruckle, Alexus Yaremkiw and Durameen Alfa 2nd - La Salle M_t_ologique (The Weather Room) - Harrison Dumas, George Collin, Jesse Kozar, Meadow Taylor and Sarah Faktor Best Public Service Announcement 1st - Ne Fumez Pas (Don't Smoke) - Nathan Whitbread, Jared Bradt, Brett Kostuchuk and Richard Blok 2nd - Le Taxage - Un Gros Problem ?
