Jonathon Naylor Editor Foran Mining Corp. says the final six holes of a winter drill program at McIlvenna Bay are encouraging. Among the results: one hole with 1.28 per cent copper over 26.9 metres and another with 1.76 per cent copper along with 0.44 grams of gold per tonne and 15.3 grams of silver per tonne over 21 metres, according to the junior miner. Patrick Soares, president and CEO of Foran, said in a news release that the results 'continue to return excellent grades and widths of mineralization.' 'Having completed the winter 2012 campaign on the deposit, our technical team will now focus on re-logging and sampling portions of the almost 70,000-metre of historic drill core we have for McIlvenna Bay,' he said. 'Once this work has been completed, we plan to commence an updated resource estimate for McIlvenna Bay.' McIlvenna Bay, Foran's flagship project, is located 65 kilometres west of Flin Flon, in Saskatchewan. The latest drill program was conducted between February and April, consisting of 3,813 metres in 15 holes. The Vancouver-based Foran said all holes intersected massive to semi-massive sulphide mineralization and/or CSZ (Copper Stockwork Zone) mineralization. In addition to expanding and increasing the confidence in the mineral resource of the deposit, the drill program was also designed to provide new geotechnical data.
