As of mid-week, 74 homes and cottages in the Flin Flon area were listed with a realty firm or on the classifieds website Kijiji:
• Fifty-one properties (69 per cent) are in Flin Flon. Of those, 32 are on the east side of the train tracks (the side of Hapnot Collegiate) while the other 19 are on the west side of the tracks (the side of Ross Lake).
• Eleven properties (15 per cent) are in or near Denare Beach with six (eight per cent) in Creighton.
• The remaining six properties (nine per cent) are in cottage country outside both Flin Flon and Creighton, but excluding Cranberry Portage.
• There are five area streets with three or more homes for sale, all of which are in Flin Flon. They are Green St. (four) as well as Queen St., Parkway Blvd., Princess Blvd. and Hillcrest Ave. (three each).
• Asking prices across the area range from $26,000 to $499,000, though some houses have no listed price.
• Nearly two-thirds of the homes are listed with a realty firm. The remainder of sellers are trying their luck with Kijiji, while several sellers have a listing with both a realtor and the website.
• These figures do not include homes put up for sale without the help of a realtor or Kijiji. Some sellers may simply put up a “For Sale” sign in their window, while others may post on Facebook.
