Ten Flin Flon students will be traveling to Winnipeg for tomorrow’s annual Red River Heritage Fair.
Local students will present their heritage fair projects from the fair held in Flin Flon in January.
Eight students from École McIsaac School, one from Ruth Betts Community School and one from Hapnot Collegiate will compete in the annual fair with the majority of projects coming from the Winnipeg area.
Flin Flon’s 10 students will join more than 200 other Manitoba students from Grades 5 through 9.
The fair will be Flin Flon’s third consecutive year for participation, also earning the title for furthest traveled projects and students.
Criteria
Students competing in the Red River Heritage Fair are eligible to complete their projects based on a number of award categories including Manitoba history, Winnipeg history, Canadian history, the development of sport in Canada, how faith influences decisions and the history of French, among many other topics.
More than 60 awards will be handed out from the May 7 fair. The Reminder will have further coverage following the Red River Heritage Fair.
