A summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, June 27 to Sunday, July 3, as provided by the RCMP:

Monday June 27

• Report of a hit-and-run to a parked vehicle on Green Street.

• Complaint of a mother and her two sons having an argument; however, they decided to work it out themselves without police attendance.

• Members attended an area near the Whitney Forum to dispose of needles that had been left unprotected on the ground.

• Members attended a Hill Street residence and arrested an individual who was in violation of a court order prohibiting contact with a certain individual.

• Report of theft from a vehicle on Anderson Avenue.

• Report of two intoxicated males who had worn our their welcome on Aspen Grove.  Members attended and found a friend who still had an ounce of patience and was willing to keep watch on the two males until they were sober.

• Members called to assist in keeping the peace during an eviction from the campground.

• Member called regarding a driver operating in an unsafe manner on Highway 10. The driver was spoken to and warned.

Tuesday June 28

• Members called to a fight on Third Avenue; one assault charge laid.

• Members called to yelling at a Boam Street residence; however, the participants had decided a peaceful resolution was in their best interest before police arrived.

• Intoxicated male on Tweedsmuir Street arrested and given a safe and secure place to sober up for the night.

• Member responded to a complaint of two intoxicated males just off of Highway 10A, one of whom was located by the attending officers and lodged in cells until sober.

• Report that a truck had been stolen from Channing sometime during the previous three days. Matter under investigation.

• Members responded to a complaint on Hapnot Street regarding some intoxicated people not seeing eye to eye. One non-resident was removed and lodged until sober.

Wednesday June 29

• Report of a possible impaired driver on Main Street. The vehicle was not located.

• Members responded to two hit-and-run vehicle collisions with parked vehicles.

• Members called to an intoxicated male banging on the door of an unoccupied residence on Hill Street. Apparently the fact that no one lived there eventually sunk in as the male was gone upon police arrival.

• Police were asked to check out the welfare of a dog inside a vehicle parked at Flin Flon General Hospital. With the mild outside temperature and the open windows in the vehicle, it was determined that the vehicle was a comfortable and safe temperature for the dog, who was happy to have the attention.

• Suspicious characters reported to be hanging out in an alley near Main Street; however, they had moved on and were not located when police patrolled the area.

• Police responded to a complaint of an assault near a Second Avenue residence. Matter under investigation.

• When a judge says you can’t drink, they mean it, as a person on Ross Street discovered during a call for a disturbance. Two people were arrested in regards to the disturbance and one was charged with breaching court-ordered conditions.

• Report of a bear on Queen Street. The bear left prior to police arrival.

• Intoxicated person arrested on Highway 10A and lodged until sober.

• Members called to Flin Flon General Hospital to assist with an intoxicated person who was medically cleared but still too intoxicated to safely leave. The individual was lodged in cells until sober.

Thursday June 30

• Members attended to yelling, howling and bird calls, which were less than appreciated by the neighbours in the middle of the night.

• Police called to yelling and glass breaking at a Ross Street residence. Two people arrested.

Friday July 1

• Complaint of a loud quad driving up and down Third Avenue. The quad driver had left prior to police arrival.

• Police attended a Windsor Avenue residence to keep the peace in a family matter.

• Members attended to a person sleeping in the ATM area of a Main Street bank. The individual was not intoxicated so was advised that this was not an acceptable place to sleep.

• Theft from a vehicle on Queen Street.

• Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Hapnot Street but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

• Intoxicated person on Church Street arrested and lodged until sober.

• 911 call of a possible assault.  Matter under investigation.

• Loud music complaint on Main Street. Resident agreed to turn it down.

Saturday July 2

• Members attended a residence to provide mental health assistance to a suicidal female.

• Report of a theft from a vehicle on Centennial Crescent.

• Police attended a call regarding two males going through vehicles on Wright Avenue. Patrols were made but suspects were not located.

• Report of a break-and-enter into a garage and vehicle on Anderson Avenue. Matter under investigation.

• Members attended to a complaint of a dog owner not following numerous dog by-laws. Owner warned and matter referred to animal control officer for follow-up if necessary.

• Intoxicated person sleeping on the Main Street sidewalk was arrested and lodged until sober.

• Intoxicated male arrested for bothering people near a Main Street business. He was lodged until sober.

• Members attended a residence to assist a suicidal youth and ensured the youth received medical help.

Sunday July 3

• Members called to a fight outside the Whitney Forum and were able to help the combatants resolve the matter in a much more peaceful way without any charges resulting.

• While investigating an assault, members were made aware that the accused had a firearm and had earlier made threats to use it to hurt himself or others. Given the potential for injury to the accused or others, the Emergency Response Team attended and assisted with the accused, who eventually left the residence voluntarily.
