A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Tuesday, Dec. 22 to Monday, Dec. 28 (up to 7:25 pm), as provided by the RCMP:
Tuesday, Dec. 22
• Report of a youth male going into sheds on First Avenue. Police attended and conducted extensive patrols, but he was not located. No other reports of anything missing from sheds in the area were received. It is not known if anything was stolen.
• Complainant on Church Street requested assistance in retrieving an iPad that had been stolen by a person known to the complainant. Police called the suspect, who agreed to return the iPad. No charges laid.
Wednesday, Dec. 23
• Complainant advised an unknown person had sent a text message telling the complainant they would either pay $3,000 or have their phone hacked and photos sent out. RCMP Tech Crime and MTS joined the investigation. The source was not determined. The likelihood of a phone being hacked without further prompting and disclosure of passwords, etc., is extremely slim.
• Complainant advised an ice scraper used the previous day was now missing. No suspects or witnesses.
• Report of an intoxicated male passed out at the Whitney Forum. Police attended and located the male, who was on the front steps to the building. He was arrested and lodged until sober.
Thursday, Dec. 24
• Complainant advised some NHL memorabilia was stolen from a Green Street residence and was being sold for money. Suspect was the complainant’s teenager. The situation was sorted out and no charges were laid.
• While on patrol, police were flagged down and advised of a stabbing on North Avenue. Investigation revealed a female sustained injuries from a male suspect. Alcohol was deemed a contributing factor. Criminal Code charges laid.
• Report of kids sliding down a hill on Second Avenue. Complainant was concerned the kids may slide out into traffic. Police unable to locate any kids in the area.
• Report of an intoxicated male at an Aspen Grove residence. Police spoke to the complainant, who advised her grandson needed to be arrested as he was intoxicated and causing problems in the home. Suspect was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of a snowmobile theft on Bracken Street. An Arctic Cat snowmobile was reported stolen and found shortly afterwards outside a nearby residence. The snowmobile was badly damaged and appeared to have been involved in a collision. Evidence at the scene was gathered and investigation is ongoing.
Friday, Dec. 25
• Report of an intoxicated male at Flin Flon General Hospital. Police attended and identified him. He was given a ride to a sober friend’s residence as he was cooperative, not overly intoxicated and it was Christmas Day.
Saturday, Dec. 26
• Report of two intoxicated individuals at a Church Street residence. Police attended and arrested the pair, who were highly intoxicated and needed help walking to the cruiser. They were lodged until sober.
Sunday, Dec. 27
• Report of an intoxicated male at a South Hudson Street residence. Police attended and arrested a male who resided at the home but was causing problems. He was lodged until sober.
• Report of an intoxicated female at a Hill Street residence. Police attended and arrested a female and male who were extremely intoxicated and advised police they were celebrating Christmas. When police told them Christmas had been two days earlier, they said it was a week-long party at their home.
Monday, Dec. 28
• Report of an intoxicated male near a Main Street business. Police located the male, who was highly intoxicated. For his safety, he was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital before being lodged in cells.
