A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, April 11 to Sunday, April 17, as provided by the RCMP:

Monday, April 11

• Police asked to assist the ambulance as an intoxicated caller said a female friend had a stroke. Police attended and upon speaking to the intoxicated complainant learned that the friend lived in another town and the female only had a feeling she had a stroke.

• Report of miscellaneous items taken from an unlocked vehicle. 

• Report of cheques that were stolen and cashed from by a supposed friend. Matter is under investigation.

• Report of a dispute between a brother and sister as the sister was intoxicated and the brother did not want her in their shared residence. Police attended and resolved the conflict.

Tuesday, April 12

• Report of an abandoned vehicle on Church Street.

• Report of three people allegedly fighting on Ross Street. Police attended and found no one fighting.

• Police asked to assist the ambulance as they had a male who was intoxicated and acting aggressive. Police attended and the male refused medical treatment – and did not require any – and was arrested and lodged.

• Report of a group of males hanging out in front of a downtown business despite being barred from the premises. Police attended and shooed them away.

• Report of a male intoxicated in his residence, yelling and making lots of noise. Police attended and all was calm. The complainant was told to call back should the poor behaviour resume.

Wednesday, April 13

• Report of a male sleeping under the stairs at a downtown business. Police attended and spoke to the male, who stated he had an earlier disagreement with his girlfriend and did not want to return home. When told he could not sleep under the stairs, the male agreed to go home and was welcomed with open arms.

• Report of a male drinking mouthwash at Flin Flon General Hospital. Police attended and located a male who smelled strongly of Listerine. Given the male’s intoxication level, he was arrested and lodged.

Thursday, April 14

• Report of students who allegedly threatened to spray fellow students with bear mace. Given the age of the students involved, none can be charged. The students were taken to their respective homes and their parents were informed of their poor behaviour.

• Report of a vehicle’s door trying to be pried open.

• Report of suspicious activity when two males were observed running down a back alley while carrying a large television and a bottle of vodka.

• Report of a male being out past his court-imposed curfew. Matter is under investigation.

Friday, April 15

• Reports of unlocked vehicles having been gone through.

• Report of a custody dispute between ex-partners. With no court order in place, police could not assist in the matter.

• Report of a break-and-enter to a residence. Matter is under investigation and is believed to be related to males seen running down the street with a TV the previous day.

• Report of three people drinking in an empty lot. Police attended and the people were permitted to stay in a nearby residence.

• Report of an intoxicated person banging on the door of a residence. Police attended and the male was located a short distance away. He was arrested and lodged. 

• Report of a group of children playing on the roof of a business. Patrols were made but the children left prior to police arrival.

• While on patrol, police located a very intoxicated male staggering across Main Street in front of traffic. He was arrested and lodged.

• Report of a large bear eating garbage near a local business, part of an ongoing issue. Police attempted to shoo the bear back into the bushes, but when that failed police euthanized the bear.

• Report of a male passed out behind a bench on Main Street. Police attended and located the male as described. He was arrested and lodged.

Saturday, April 16

• Report of a disturbance at a local bar. Police attended and learned a group of people had brought outside liquor into the bar, and when told to leave became angry with bar staff.

• Report of a break-and-enter to a residence. Matter is under investigation.

• Report of damage done to a vehicle.

• Report of theft of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered by the owner, who did not wish to pursue charges.

• Report of a child not home as per their curfew. The child later returned home on their own accord.

• A male was located passed out in front of a Main Street business. Due to his intoxicated state and health condition, he was taken to Flin Flon General Hospital to be treated.

Sunday, April 17

• Report of a very intoxicated female walking down the middle of the road on South Hudson Street. Police attended and found the female as described. She was arrested and lodged.

• Report of a female swearing at another female while walking home. Police attended and spoke to the aggressor, who stated this was a family dispute. The parties were separated.

• Report of an unsolicited phone calls using personal information the caller should not have known. Matter is under investigation.
