A summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, May 18 to Sunday, May 24:
Monday, May 18
• Police responded to suicide threats on Dadson Row.
Tuesday, May 19
• Report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at an Aspen Grove residence. He was arrested, lodged until sober.
• Report of a hit and run in a grocery store parking lot causing damage to a vehicle. Matter under investigation.
• Report of a group of youths having a fire behind a South Main Street business. The property rep was spoken to.
Wednesday, May 20
• Report of an alarm at a Main Street business. Investigation revealed employee did not have pass code.
• Report from a grandmother that her grandson was high on an unknown substance at Aspen Grove. Police attended and the male was extremely intoxicated. He was lodged until sober.
• Report of a suspicious person on Terrace Avenue. Person located and was in area to pick up a family member.
• Police responded to Hapnot Street residence to help a female who could not open the door from the inside. Door had been opened upon police arrival. Female invited police inside to see damage from door being kicked in. Once inside, police could see drug paraphernalia and a small bag of marijuana. Items were seized. Female said they belonged to her boyfriend. Police said he could claim the items at the detachment.
• Report of a possible fire at the Flin Flon Ski Chalet area. Police attended but smoke was from a forest fire in Creighton.
• Disturbance on Whitney Street in which neighbours had been drinking together and an argument began.
• Disturbance on Ross Street. Upon police arrival, it was learned a male and female had been fighting. The male was known to be on court-ordered conditions. He was located and arrested for breaching orders by consuming alcohol. He was remanded in custody.
Thursday, May 21
• 911 call in Channing. Female was arrested for breaching the peace and lodged.
• Report of an intoxicated male at a downtown business.
• Report of a large roll of paper found on First Avenue.
• Report of a domestic disturbance on Hill Street. Male was arrested and subsequently released on numerous conditions.
• Report of an alarm at a service provider on Main Street. Investigation revealed false alarm.
• Report of domestic disturbance on Second Avenue. Police attended and found it was a verbal argument that did not become physical.
• Report of an intoxicated male waving a bottle of alcohol on Terrace Avenue. Police unable to locate male.
• Report of disturbance at City Hall.
• Report of a missing youth. Male was located short time later.
• Sighting of intoxicated male staggering on Church Street. He was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Sighting of a second intoxicated male on Church Street – the brother of the first male arrested. He was arrested and released, with his brother, when sober.
Friday, May 22
• Report from an intoxicated male that his girlfriend was causing problems. Police attended the Hill Street residence and escorted the female to a relative’s house.
• Report of an intoxicated female on Hapnot Street. She was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of threats on Hill Street. Investigation revealed threats to be unfounded.
• Report of a theft of a lunch kit on Third Avenue. Owner left lunch kit at bus stop and, upon return, saw that it was gone. Video footage showed a female get out of a vehicle and take the kit. The vehicle was located and the lunch kit was returned.
Saturday, May 23
• Report of three suspicious youths on Second Avenue.
• Report of an intoxicated male passed out in the men’s washroom of a downtown service provider. Male was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of an intoxicated male looking in windows on Callinan Street. Male was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of a young child breaking windows at a Terrace Avenue residence.
• Report of a family disturbance at Aspen Grove. Disgruntled female left prior to police arrival.
• Report of an intoxicated female who had left the Flin Flon General Hospital. Staff were concerned for her wellbeing. Female was located short time later.
Sunday, May 24
• Report of kids throwing stones at a Hudson Street residence.
• Report of a female shoplifting at a downtown store. Matter under investigation.
• Report of vehicle being vandalized on Tweedsmuir Street. No suspects at this time.
• Report of two intoxicated brothers on Church Street. They were arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of dangerous driving on Bracken Street.
• Report of two male youths going down Sipple Hill on skateboards. Youths were not located.
• Report for an alarm call at a Main Street business. Investigation revealed cleaning staff had set off the alarm.
• Report of a hit and run at a downtown business. Suspect indentified, charges pending.
