A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, May 16 to Sunday, May 22, as provided by the RCMP:
Monday, May 16
• Report of an intoxicated male in a residence screaming and breaking things. Police attended and located a suspect, who was on conditions to abstain from alcohol. He was arrested and will be facing charges.
• Report of a group of people in a back lane trying to open doors to vehicle. The suspects ran away when a witness pounded on their window.
• Report of unknown suspects rummaging through an unlocked garage and unlocked vehicle.
• Police asked to attend a school to deal with a student who was upset and would not calm down. The student was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital to speak to a mental health professional.
• Report of a female not abiding by her conditions to have no contact with another female. The suspect was arrested and charged.
Tuesday, May 17
• A male called police to taunt them that he was breaking into businesses and would continue doing so as police “are too dumb to catch him.” Police caught the male a short time later. Police checked the businesses, and none had been broken into. Charges are pending against the male.
• Report of a hit-and-run in a residential parking lot.
Wednesday, May 18
• Report of a male needing medical attention after ingesting some bad drugs. He refused any medical treatment.
• Report of a youth allegedly pointing a knife at another youth. The suspect is under age 12 and therefore cannot be criminally charged. Matter has been referred to Child and Family Services for follow-up.
Thursday, May 19
• Report of a female ordering food and drinks at a local restaurant, then after consuming both advised staff to call police as she had no money to pay for either. No charges to be laid as per restaurant staff.
• Police and ambulance called for a reported overdose. Both attended and the individual was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Friday, May 20
• Report of a vehicle and pedestrian collision on Main Street. Matter is under investigation.
• A young boy called 911. When police arrived, they learned the three-year-old hurt his leg while playing.
• Report of children throwing rocks and bottles at ducks. Police located children matching the description from the complainant. The children were spoken to and advised of the errors of their ways.
• Report of a female yelling at bar staff after being refused service. She was spoken to and told to stay away.
• Report of a female approaching her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend in a store and swearing at both of them. The suspect is on conditions to have no contact with her ex-boyfriend, so she was arrested and charged.
• Report of female in a back alley yelling and screaming about fighting someone. Police spoke to the suspect, who was not intoxicated and was just mad about something. She agreed to calm down and stay inside.
Saturday, May 21
• Report of person with self-inflicted injuries who needed medical attention. Police attended and transported the patient to Flin Flon General Hospital, where they were assessed and released.
• Report of an erratic driver coming into Flin Flon from Bakers Narrows. The suspect vehicle was located and the driver blew into the roadside screening device. The driver was issued a 72-hour suspension and other tickets.
• Report of a youth caught attempting to steal video games from a local store. The youth was taken home to his relatives. The store did not wish to pursue charges.
• EMS and police attended a call of a person in medical distress after taking an unknown amount of pills. The patient was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital and received treatment.
• Report of a party with 10 children where the homeowner noticed that about $150 was missing from their purse. Police attended and spoke to all children present at the party, but they all denied taking the money.
• Report of an intoxicated person at her friend’s residence, falling over and hardly able to stand up. Police provided the intoxicated person a ride home.
Sunday, May 22
• Report of a theft of gasoline from a local gas station. It was learned that due to a malfunction at the till, the gasoline was not added to the total price.
• Report of a former couple arguing with one another during the exchange of their child. The male was refusing to leave but did leave prior to police arrival.
