A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the week of Monday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Oct. 4:
Monday, Sept. 28
• Report that an employee who had quit her job was harassing her employer regarding her last paycheque via text messages.
• Report of vehicles speeding through a construction detour on Phelps Avenue.
Tuesday, Sept. 29
• A driver whose vehicle had a burnt-out headlight and no taillights was observed leaving a local hotel. The odour of alcohol was noted coming from the driver and an investigation resulted. The driver refused to provide a Breathalyzer sample and was charged.
• Report of three intoxicated people refusing to leave a Hill Street residence. Two of the people had left prior to police arrival while the third was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of a break and enter to a North Avenue shed. The shed was not locked and the suspects dragged out an old mattress while three lawn chairs were stolen.
• Report an intoxicated male passed out on Main Street. He was arrested and lodged until sober.
Wednesday, Sept. 30
• Report at 9 am of a group of intoxicated people on Flinty’s Boardwalk. All but one male had fled the area prior to police arrival. He was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of a break and enter to a Tweedsmuir Street apartment. Matter under investigation.
• Report of an employee at an uptown business who was putting through false return claims and putting the money on her debit card. Matter under investigation.
• Report of an intoxicated male and female in a vacant lot on Main Street. Both were lodged until sober.
• Report of a male youth who was assaulted on North Avenue. Matter under investigation.
Thursday, Oct. 1
• Report of a strong odour coming from a Green Street apartment. Police attended and investigation revealed the odour was coming from a garbage bag that probably should have been thrown out six months earlier.
• Report of an intoxicated female passed out on the 100 Stairs. She was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of rocks being thrown at a window of a North Avenue residence. Matter under investigation.
• Report of four intoxicated males drinking under the ramp of Flin Flon General Hospital. All four were arrested and lodged until sober.
Friday, Oct. 2
• Report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a local bar. He was arrested and lodged until sober. He will be charged for failing to comply with a condition to abstain from alcohol.
• Report of a hunting backpack containing numerous knives and ammunition stolen from a garage on Green Street.
• Report of a schoolyard fight at École McIsaac School. The female youth involved was later reported missing but located a short time later.
• Report of an intoxicated male trying to get into a Bellevue Avenue residence. He left prior to police arrival.
• Report from a male on Hapnot Street stating that a female came to his door asking for money. When he said no, she said fine, grabbed a pack of matches and left.
• A male who had been observed drinking at a party earlier in the day was observed driving a vehicle on North Avenue. Investigation revealed he was driving with an alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit.
Saturday, Oct. 3
• Police were called to a Fifth Avenue residence after a female reported that people in the residence were picking on her. Police attended and believed the problem to be that cans of Spam and Vienna wieners, and beer, were not being shared equally. All occupants agreed to get along.
• Report of a group of youths on Centennial Crescent looking into vehicles. Police attended and located one of the youths.
• While on patrol, police observed a 19-year-old male leaning on the hood of a car but sliding off due to his extreme level of intoxication. He was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital as a precaution, and later handed over to his mother.
• Report of a male bleeding from his eye at a local hotel. Investigation revealed he had been assaulted by his wife. She was later arrested and will be charged accordingly.
• Report of two males sniffing gas behind the Flintoba Shopping Centre. Both were arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of a wallet being stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Green Street.
• Report of two males sniffing paint thinner on Church Street. They were arrested and lodged until sober.
• Complaint of a puppy being pulled very hard on a leash and being picked up with the leash on Main Street.
• Report of an assault on Third Avenue. An intoxicated female stated she had been punched in the eye.
• Report of an intoxicated male “in” the Duck Pond. Police attended and arrested him for failing to comply with his conditions.
Sunday, Oct. 4
• Report of two males yelling behind the Flintoba Shopping Centre. Police attended and the males smelled of paint thinner. They were arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report that a male had been assaulted by his girlfriend. He declined to provide any details.
• Report of three youths that had egged a car on Callinan Street.
