A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the week of Tuesday, March 8 to Monday, March 14, as provided by the RCMP:
Tuesday, March 8
• Report of an incomplete 911 call on North Avenue. On callback, yelling could be heard in the background. Police attended and spoke with a mother and son. The male was upset and throwing things in the house, and was taken to a relative’s place for the evening. Matter referred to Child and Family Services for follow up.
• Report of computer scam. Police provided the complainant with the number to the anti-fraud centre and to cancel credit cards. Police remind the public to be cautious when giving out personal information over the phone.
Wednesday, March 9
• Report of a disturbance on Main Street. An unknown male was knocking over garbage cans. Police made patrols but were not able to locate him.
• Report of a motor vehicle collision on Ross Street. Police attended the scene; weather was considered a contributing factor. Neither of the drivers was injured.
• Report of an intoxicated male refusing to leave the lobby at Flin Flon General Hospital. He did not need any medical assistance. He was happy to see police, saying he knew officers would come and give him a place to sleep. He was transported and allowed to finish his bag of Cheezies on the ride to cells.
• Report of an intoxicated male walking in and out of traffic on South Hudson Street. He was wearing a yellow reflective jacket but police were not able to locate him.
Thursday, March 10
• Report of a disturbance at a North Avenue residence. A male and female were allowed to enter the residence but would not settle down and go to bed. Both were intoxicated and needed to be removed. Police attended but the male and female had slipped away and found another place to stay.
• Report of an assault at a Milton Street residence. Police attended and spoke with the complainant, who said his friend was getting rowdy but after a stern talking-to by the complainant chose to go to bed. No further calls received.
• Report of a disturbance at a Main Street business. An intoxicated male and female were arguing. Police attended and spoke with the now lone male, who was taken to cells to sober up. The female was able to depart the area prior to police arrival and was not located.
• Report of a disturbance in front of a Church Street residence. Police attended and spoke with a male who was having an argument with his girlfriend. The female had since left and the male was going to a friend’s place for the night.
• Report of a female sleeping at a Main Street business. Police attended and located her asleep in a chair. When woken, she apologized and said she was waiting for a relative to pick her up.
• Report of a male waving a gun around in a back alley off Main Street. Police attended and the male was gone. He was located a few streets away, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was later released. Matter still under investigation.
• Report of kids throwing snowballs at the windows of Flin Flon General Hospital. Police patrolled the area but did not locate anyone.
Friday, March 11
• Report of an intoxicated male under the ramp at Flin Flon General Hospital. Police attended and found a male and a female. They said they were making snow angels. Both were taken to a sober friend’s house for the night.
• Police called to a Highway 10A business to assist EMS with an incident at a pool. A male youth was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital.
• Report of a disturbance at a Ross Street residence. Police arrived to find a female and male in the front yard fighting. It was learned that the male came into the house and was throwing things, including a fridge. The male was taken to cells to sober up.
Saturday, March 12
• Report of a break-and-enter at a Main Street business. Police attended with the assistance of the police service dog and patrolled the area. Matter currently under investigation.
• Report of two males drinking in a Church Street backyard. The males did not belong on the property. Police attended but they were gone on arrival.
• Report of a vehicle driving in the wrong lane on the Perimeter Highway and onto Green Street. Police patrolled the area but could not locate the vehicle.
Sunday, March 13
• Report of an attempted break-and-enter on Manitoba Avenue. A group of four people dressed in black attempted to get into a car at a residence. Police attended but the group had fled from the area. Police were later called to the same area on Manitoba Avenue. The group had returned and now broken into the garage. Matter under investigation.
• Report of a disturbance on Hapnot Street. An intoxicated male was banging on a door. Police attended and located the male, who was transported to cells to sober up.
• Report of a break-and-enter to a garage on Princess Boulevard. Miscellaneous items were stolen. Matter under investigation.
• Report of a mischief to a vehicle on Parkway Boulevard. Miscellaneous items stolen.
Monday, March 14
• Report of a vehicle not stopping for a school bus stop sign on Hiawatha Avenue. Matter under investigation. Police remind the public that failing to stop for the school bus not only puts children at risk, but also comes with a $673.65 fine.
• Report of a disturbance at a Main Street business. The complainant reported three intoxicated people. Police attended and located one of the males, who was provided a cell to sleep it off. His friends were able to slip away without being located by police.
