A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, Dec. 28 to  Sunday, Jan. 3, as provided by the RCMP:

Monday, Dec. 28

• Report of an intoxicated ex-girlfriend at her ex-boyfriend’s house refusing to leave. Police attended and the ex-girlfriend was having a bath. She was coaxed out and taken to her mother’s.

• Report of an intoxicated male refusing to leave a walkway to an uptown business. Police attended and arrested him for mischief. 

• Report of a child making suicidal threats while arguing with their mother. Child and mother went to Flin Flon General Hospital voluntarily. 

• Report of an argument between mother and daughter as the daughter wanted to take her child to her boyfriend’s place but her mother would not let her, as it was too cold outside. Police attended and the daughter left the residence on her own, angry at the advice provided by police.

• Report of a female making suicidal comments. She was located and transported to Flin Flon General Hospital.

Tuesday, Dec. 29

• Report of a hit and run at the Flintoba Shopping Centre parking lot.

• Report of an intoxicated male in front of an uptown business. Police attended and he was arrested and charged, as he was bound by conditions to abstain from alcohol. 

• Report of a vehicle stuck in the snow facing the wrong way on a one-way street. Police attended and spoke to the female, who admitted to being the driver and who was trying to pull out the vehicle. She showed signs of impairment, was arrested and provided breath samples three times the legal limit. She was charged accordingly. 

• Report of a female youth who took off from home angry at her parents and did not return. Police later attended the female, who was taken to Flin Flon General Hospital for a mental health assessment. 

Wednesday, Dec. 30

• Report from Flin Flon General Hospital of a male who had left before being treated medically by staff. He was located at home and went back to the hospital voluntarily at the urging of his spouse.

• Report of hit and run at Flintoba Shopping Centre parking lot. 

• Report of a male attending a residence returning mail he received by accident containing a cheque for $50. He felt he deserved a reward for returning the cheque, and was given a reward before leaving. Incident reported since it was “weird.”

• Report of an argument between family members after an intervention went awry.

• Police were at Flin Flon General Hospital for an unrelated matter when they were notified of a male passed out next to an exhaust fan. He was located as described, arrested and lodged.

• Report of an intoxicated male going to a person’s house and confronting them about being a hunter and trapper. The intoxicated male was spoken to and stated he was an animal lover and therefore felt compelled to let his feelings be known.

Thursday, Dec. 31

• Report of a loud party at a residence. The homeowner was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital via ambulance given their state of intoxication. 

• Report of females stealing hair extensions and makeup from a downtown business but leaving their male counterpart behind. The male agreed to pay for the stolen merchandise. 

• Police assisted Child and Family Services with a child apprehension. 

• Report of items being stolen from a residence during a party. Complainant later called back advising they found the items in the house while cleaning up. 

• Report of an intoxicated male in the common area of an apartment refusing to leave. Police attended and he had already left.

• Report of male expressing suicidal ideations. He was arrested and later assessed by Flin Flon General Hospital staff under the Mental Health Act. 

• Report of an intoxicated male at a residence fighting with other people there after being asked to leave. He was located and arrested. 

Friday, Jan. 1

• Report of a female not paying her cab fare. She later paid for the fare.

• Report of a female refusing to go home, as she was babysitting. She later went home on her own accord.

• Report of a fight involving three parties downtown. Police attended and the involved persons were nowhere to be found.

• Report of an intoxicated person at Flin Flon General Hospital being verbally abusive to staff. The person was too intoxicated to care for themselves and was provided a ride to a sober relative.

• Report of an intoxicated female at a residence refusing to leave. She was arrested and lodged. 

Saturday, Jan. 2

• Report of a fight outside a residence. Police attended and learned the fight was between an intoxicated mother and daughter. The daughter gave the mother a “snow rub” and the fight ended. Neither party wanted to pursue charges.

• Report of an intoxicated female entering a residence and asking the homeowner for a “kind word.” Police attended and located the intoxicated female, who was arrested and lodged. Homeowner did not pursue charges.

Sunday, Jan. 3

• Report of a youth being out with her friends. The mother was concerned they may be doing illegal things and requested police check it out. The mother was advised this is not the police’s function.

• Report of a theft at a local business. Investigation ongoing.
