A summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Tuesday, Dec. 1 to Monday, Dec. 7, as provided by the RCMP:

Tuesday, Dec. 1

• Report of an alarm at a local school. Police attended and ensured the premises were secure.

• Two reports of intoxicated people at Flin Flon General Hospital at different times. On both occasions, suspect arrested and lodged until sober without any further incident.

• Report of a missing 13-year-old female. Police conducted patrols and eventually contact was made with the complainant, who confirmed the youth returned home unharmed.

• Report of a strong propane smell near Ross Lake. Police attended and took on the role of securing the area and ensuring people in nearby businesses were evacuated safely. Eventually the source was determined and contained. No injuries from incident.

• Report of a 911 call from a downtown service provider. Police attended and determined a youth called 911 from a payphone before hanging up. The seriousness of this matter was discussed with the youth.

Wednesday, Dec. 2

• Report of a possible child assault. Police, along with local Child and Family Services, investigated the incident. It was determined the suspect became angry and threw a coffee mug on the floor, and it unintentionally hit a youth in the ankle. There was no intent to injure anyone and no injuries were sustained. No charges were laid.

• Report of a group of youths taking garbage from a dumpster near Flin Flon General Hospital and lighting it on fire. Police attended and confirmed the report, but after extensive patrols in the area no suspects matching the description given were located.

• Report of two intoxicated males at a Hill Street residence. Police attended and were able to apprehend one of the suspects. The other suspect made an escape and eluded police. The male who was arrested was lodged until sober.

• Report of a break-and-enter into a Tweedsmuir Street apartment. Police attended and confirmed that several items had been taken from within. Matter under investigation.

Thursday, Dec. 3

• Report of an assault between two siblings at Aspen Grove. Police attended and the complainant refused to pursue criminal charges.

• Report of an intoxicated male at a Main Street business. Police attended and located a heavily intoxicated male. He was arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report advising that threats were made at a Main Street establishment. Complainant said a male known to her threatened to “stab her up.” Investigation ongoing with a warrant out for the suspect’s arrest.

Friday, Dec. 4

• While on patrol, police observed a heavily intoxicated male walking on Third Avenue. Police stopped and confirmed the male was inebriated. He was arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report of an intoxicated female walking on Third Avenue. Police attended and located her. She was arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report of party at a rock pit on the former Trout Lake Mine road. Police attended the site and frequented the area throughout the evening. No reports of any wrongdoing were received and the event was of much smaller scale than reported. Vehicles leaving the location were stopped to assess the drivers’ sobriety and there were no incidents of impaired driving observed.

Saturday, Dec. 5

• While on patrol, police observed a vehicle driving erratically on Main Street. The vehicle was stopped and the male driver failed a roadside screening device test. He was arrested and transported to the detachment, where breath samples were obtained. He was found to have twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system and was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation over .08.

• Report of a bear-spray incident on Hill Street. A lone male suspect sprayed two individuals with bear spray. The suspect is wanted on these charges and is currently on an outstanding Canada-wide warrant for escaping lawful custody.

• Multiple reports of unlocked garages and vehicles being entered in the Riverside Drive area. There are no suspects or witnesses to any of these crimes, but RCMP encourage anyone with knowledge of anyone involved to contact police immediately.

• Report of an intoxicated male at Flin Flon General Hospital. Police attended and arrested him. He was lodged until sober.

• While attending a residence on Callinan, police observed a small puppy that was on a short chain with no food or water. Police confirmed with neighbours that the dog had been outside for a while in this condition. The members on scene took the dog and provided it with food and water at the detachment. The following morning, it was taken to the SPCA.

Sunday, Dec. 6

• Report of a false alarm at a Main Street business.

• Report of a 911 call from a Callinan residence. Investigation revealed a child dialed the phone and no one in the residence was in any harm.

Monday, Dec. 7
(first part of day)

• Report of a hit-and-run to a vehicle in Flin Flon. No suspects at this time.
