A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Tuesday, March 22 to Sunday, March 27, as provided by the RCMP:

Tuesday, March 22

• Report of a structure fire at a Third Avenue residence. Police and firefighters attended. All occupants made it out of the residence safe. Fire deemed non-suspicious. 

• Report of loud music coming from a neighbour’s residence. Police attended and the neighbour agreed to turn his music down.

Wednesday, March 23

• Report of a vehicle passing a bus while the stop sign was out. 

• Request for police to retrieve a person’s shoes from a residence. When informed that this is not the police’s function, the person made an assault allegation. Matter is under investigation.

• Report of youths smoking marijuana prior to attending school. Child and Family Services was notified of the incident.

• Report of a suspicious male taking pictures of children near the Flin Flon Public Library. A description of the male and the vehicle was obtained. Matter is under investigation.

Thursday, March 24

• 911 hang-up calls received from a number registered to a Flin Flon business. Upon call back, the number was out of service. 

• Report of children playing on the water reservoir. Police attended and no children were observed but footprints indicated there likely had been children playing there earlier. Police advise parents and guardians to teach their children caution about playing on thin ice.

• Report of a disturbance at a local business. Police attended and the parties had dispersed. 

• Report of two intoxicated males, one of whom had fallen off a deck. Police attended and informed one of the males he was under arrest. The male resisted the arrest and in the process assaulted a police officer. He was subsequently charged with numerous offences.

Friday, March 25

• Report of a domestic disturbance between a male and female. The male was subsequently arrested and will be charged with multiple offences.

• Report of a mother and son allegedly breaking into residences. Matter is under investigation.

• Report of a domestic disturbance between a male and female. The female was located and arrested in relation to the incident. She faces charges.

• Report of a boy, about 10 years old, walking on the highway while wearing a backpack. It is unknown why the caller thought this was suspicious.

• Report of an intoxicated person causing a scene in his apartment while on conditions to abstain from alcohol. Police attended and found the male was also on a curfew to remain in his residence, and was not home at time of police arrival. He was subsequently located, arrested and remanded in custody due to other outstanding charges.

Saturday, March 26

• Report of a noisy party at a residence near the complainant’s. Police attended and could hear no noise.

• While performing a traffic stop, police observed the driver of a vehicle displaying signs of impairment. The male then failed to provide breath samples as per a demand made to him under the Criminal Code. He was arrested and will face charges of impaired driving and failing to provide breath samples.

• Report of a fight at a residence. Police attended and found quite the party, and noted a fair bit of blood. No one at the party was willing to disclose what had happened and no further calls were received.

• Report of a domestic disturbance involving a male and female. Matter is still under investigation.

• Report of a female breaching her no-contact order with another female. Based on the details provided, police determined no breach occurred.

• Report of a female and male arguing in a back alley. Police attended and spoke to the couple, who were now in their residence. The couple agreed to separate for the rest of the night to prevent any further problems.

• Report from a male youth concerned that his sister, also a youth, may beat him up. Police attended and separated the two children. The mother was informed of the incident. 

• Report of a vehicle having been spray-painted two to three days earlier. 

• While conducting a traffic stop, police observed a female driver showing signs of impairment. The female provided breath samples that indicated she was over the legal limit to be operating a motor vehicle. She was subsequently arrested, and when it was time to provide breath samples, she refused. She faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusing to provide a breath sample.

Sunday, March 27

• Report of unwanted patrons at a local drinking establishment. Staff requested police drive by, which they did. No issues observed.

• Report of an assault involving an adult and child. Upon investigation, it was learned that a male took a piece of ice away from a child. No punches were thrown.

• Report of a scorned lover breaking a window at a residence. The female was later located, arrested and charged with damaging the property as well as breaching no-contact conditions with her former beau. While police investigated this event, another female was located at the residence breaching her court-appointed curfew. She was also subsequently arrested and will be charged accordingly.

• Report of a youth missing from her mother’s residence. The youth returned home on her own accord.
