A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the week of Monday, July 4 to Sunday, July 10, as provided by the RCMP:

Monday, July 4

• Report of a truck that had been stolen from a Tweedsmuir Street residence. The vehicle was located in Pelican Narrows a few days later. Matter under investigation.

• Report of a group of youths attempting to get into vehicles on Princess Boulevard and Green Street. Patrols were unable to locate the youths.

• Report of an emergency kit and watch being stolen from a vehicle on East Street. No suspects at this time.

• Report of a hit-and-run to a vehicle in the Flintoba Shopping Centre parking lot.

• Members on patrol observed an intoxicated male on Church Street. He was arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report of a male and female yelling at each other at a Main Street business. Police responded and the male was known to be on conditions to have no contact with the female. He was arrested and remanded in custody.

• Report of two suspicious males in the back lane of Danard Avenue. They left prior to police arrival.

Tuesday, July 5

• Police assisted EMS with a suicidal person on Dadson Row.

• Report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 10.
No injuries were reported and the drivers had exchanged particulars.

• Police responded to a domestic dispute on North Avenue. A female was arrested and is facing assault charges.

• Report of a male walking his bike on Third Avenue, challenging vehicles and throwing his bike around. He was not located.

• Report of someone entering a camper at a Callinan Street business and spending the night.

• Report of harassment on Hill Street. Matter under investigation.

• Report of a white dirt bike speeding past a complainant while walking on the Flinty’s Boardwalk trail. The driver was not located.

• Report of fraud. The complainant reported she had received a call from the Canada Revenue Agency informing her that she owed a large amount of money.  The total amount lost is in excess of $33,000.

Wednesday, July 6

• Report of a male calling from a house party on South Main Street that someone wanted to beat him up. The complainant was hiding in the bathroom until police arrived. Upon police arrival, the male left the house and ran home.

• Report of a 911 call in which the male caller reported that someone was taking his things and putting them in a pillowcase.

• Report of a male repeatedly calling and texting another male, wondering where his girlfriend was. The male didn’t know and he had no reason to know, either.

• Report received of an intoxicated male at Rotary Park. He was arrested and lodged until sober.

Thursday, July 7

• Report of two intoxicated males at a local bar who were causing a disturbance and had been refused service by a cab company. They were given the opportunity to just walk away, but the alcohol impaired their negotiation skills so they were arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report of an intoxicated male and female at an Aspen Grove residence. They were arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report of a vehicle windshield that had been smashed on Adams Street.

• An intoxicated female was observed in the Main Street alley. She was arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report of three males riding bikes into traffic on Main Street. Patrols were unable to locate the youths.

Friday, July 8

• Report of fraud. The complainant reported she had received a phone call from the Canada Revenue Agency informing her that she owed a large amount of money.  The total amount lost is in excess of $7,000.

• Report of two intoxicated males walking on Main Street. One of them was located on the doorstep of a Church Street residence. The property rep said they would take care of their friend.

• Report of a male banging on a door on Hill Street. Police spoke to the male and he left after it was strongly recommended that he do so.

• While on patrol, police observed an intoxicated male yelling and screaming on the doorstep of a Hapnot Street residence. He was arrested and lodged until sober.

• Report of two females and one male youth jumping on the hood of cars at a Main Street residence. Patrols for the youth were unsuccessful.

Saturday, July 9

• Police responded to threats of suicide on Hill Street.

• Police responded to a report of six people fighting near École McIsaac School. Investigation revealed one female had gotten into a fight with another. A former boyfriend then intervened and was punched in the face numerous times. The female was arrested and is facing assault charges.

• Police responded to a domestic assault on Fifth Avenue. A male was arrested and will be charged with assault.

• A vehicle was observed weaving and crossing the centre line on Green Street. The vehicle was stopped and investigation revealed the male driver to be impaired. He was arrested and was found to be close to double the legal limit.

• Report of two intoxicated males who had attempted to steal some jerky from a Third Avenue business. The thieves’ plan was thwarted by employees on shift and the would-be thieves left without any jerky.

• Report of intoxicated male at Rotary Park. He was arrested and lodged till sober.

• Report of damage to a vehicle on Hill Street.

• Report of two intoxicated males who wanted to get into a Creighton Street residence.

• Report of a male refusing to leave a local hotel from which he had been barred.

Sunday, July 10

• Members of the Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) reported a vehicle parked on the side of the road. When COPP attempted to write down the plate number, the vehicle drove off in a manner that was described as “not driving like a normal human being.” Police located the vehicle a short time later.

• COPP reported a suspicious white truck driving into the snow dump area on North Avenue.

• Report of sounds of a girl screaming and threatening to harm herself while walking on Green Street. Patrols were made in the area for an extensive period of time but were unsuccessful in locating the girl.

• Report of a vehicle driving very slow on Hill Street. When the complainant honked, the occupants of the vehicle gave the complainant the finger and began to swear at her.

• Report that a male at a Church Street residence may have had a warrant of arrest out for him. Police checks revealed the male did have a warrant from Winnipeg City Police, but they were not willing to extend the warrant to this area.
