A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, May 23 to Sunday, May 29, as provided by the RCMP:
Monday, May 23
• False alarm at a local business.
• Report of a vehicle’s tires being slashed sometime overnight. No suspects or witnesses.
Tuesday, May 24
• Report of a male punching a female, with a passerby witnessing the incident. Police attended and located the subjects of complaint. There was sufficient evidence to arrest and charge the male with assault causing bodily harm. He was remanded in custody.
• Report of a group of children playing in a back alley, hanging off telephone poles and being nuisances in general. A group of children were spoken to and given stern warnings.
Wednesday, May 25
• Report of an intoxicated male outside a residence yelling and causing problems. Upon arrival police learned the male was tuckered out and was now in bed.
• Report of a male texting and driving, which concerned the caller as this occurred on Main Street.
Thursday, May 26
• Report of a neighbour playing his music too loudly. Police attended and the neighbour agreed to turn the music down.
• Report of a break-and-enter in which jewellery, among other items, was stolen. Investigation is ongoing.
• Report of a dispute between roommates after both were intoxicated and money went missing. Police attended and separated the two until they could speak civilly about the matter.
• Report of two seemingly intoxicated males who appeared to be looking for trouble. One of the males threw a beer can at a vehicle after the driver said something to one of them. Police made patrols but were unable to locate the troublemakers.
• A 911 hang-up call was received from an unknown number. Police checked nearby residences from where the 911 call was believed to have originated, and no problems were noted.
Friday, May 27
• Report of a domestic assault in which a boyfriend pushed his girlfriend after she asked him to turn off the lights and shut off the music. The boyfriend was arrested and will be charged accordingly.
• A male attended the detachment to turn over firearms he wished to have destroyed. Please note: when bringing firearms to the detachment, please leave them in your vehicle and an officer will collect them.
• Report of a female who believed her ex-boyfriend poured coffee on her vehicles. The female was unable to provide proof of this but applied for a protection order, which was granted.
• Report of a youth being seen with a machete in his backpack near a park. Police attended and located the male, whose back pack did contain a machete. Due to the youth’s age, he could not be charged.
Saturday, May 28
• Report of a dispute between a mother and son in which the son was intoxicated, throwing chairs and pushing his mom. The male had left prior to the mother calling police and she advised she did want her son to return. No further calls received.
• Report of a daughter not returning home as per her curfew. While police were en route, the youth was seen walking home. She returned home, albeit late.
• Report of an argument between a couple in their residence. The argument was only verbal.
• Report of an intoxicated male in a local grocery store. Police attended and removed the male.
• Report of a youth performing an indecent act in a public area. Police attended and the male youth will be charged with multiple offences.
Sunday, May 29
• Report of a robbery that occurred two days earlier. A female reported she was lured into helping a young female when she was pushed to the ground by two males who stole her purse. Matter is under investigation.
• Report of a side-by-side driving through the municipal campground. The vehicle was not located.
• Police, fire and EMS attended to a report of a single-vehicle ATV accident at Cliff Lake Road. A 26-year-old male was deceased on scene. Matter is under investigation.
