A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, March 28 to Sunday, April 3, as provided by the RCMP:
Monday, March 28
• Report of medication allegedly stolen from a residence. The caller could not state who a suspect was, as they had many different people staying with them over a short time period.
• Police asked to assist in a child custody dispute despite no court order being in place. Police attended with Child and Family Services and the matter was resolved peacefully.
• Report of a person in medical distress at a residence. Police attended with ambulance and the male was deemed medically fit. While there, police noted another male was very intoxicated and found to be on conditions to abstain from alcohol. The intoxicated male was arrested and will be charged with breaching his conditions.
Tuesday, March 29
• Report of four unknown persons looking into cars in the back lane of Adams Street.
• Report of a vehicle having its windows smashed sometime overnight.
• Five different calls regarding vehicles having been vandalized overnight.
• Report of a fight on Main Street. Police attended and spoke to the persons alleged to be involved; however, no one would cooperate with the investigation.
• Report of a male having a firearm in his residence. Upon speaking to the complainant, he stated that the suspect had words with him and made mention of a gun. Police searched the residence and no firearm was located. The complainant did not wish for charges to be laid.
• Report of persons doing drugs in a residence while youth were present. Police attended and entered the residence; however, no one was home.
• Report of an intoxicated male fighting with family members in a residence. Police attended and arrested and lodged the male. No charges laid as per the family members’ request.
Wednesday, March 30
• Report of an assault between a male and a female. The male was spoken to and said he was not in fact assaulted. When asked why he called to report he was, could not provide a good reason.
• While on patrol, police located a very intoxicated male in the uptown area. He was arrested and lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
• Report of vehicles being spray-painted sometime overnight. Matter is under investigation.
• Report of a male being assaulted by an unknown person. Matter is under investigation.
Thursday, March 31
• Police called to an apartment for a fight. Police attended and located the suspect, who was arrested for multiple offences as the female was bound by conditions she was breaching. Upon arrest the female began uttering threats to the arresting officers. She was remanded in custody due to these new charges as well as others currently before the courts.
• Report of an intoxicated female having taken some pills. She was treated at Flin Flon General Hospital and deemed fit for incarceration, and was therefore arrested and lodged.
• Report of a domestic dispute between an ex-boyfriend and an ex-girlfriend. Matter is under investigation.
Friday, April 1
• Report of an unknown female running around with a hockey stick, yelling.
• Report of a vehicle driving through a worksite that had been blocked off. Matter is under investigation.
• Report of an assault between a taxi driver and his fare. Upon investigation, no assault took place; only a dispute about cab fare.
• Report of a male approaching a residence and asking the occupant to call a taxi. When the homeowner looked back outside, the male was gone.
• During a traffic stop, police noted a driver was exhibiting signs of impairment. A roadside screening device was utilized and the driver was issued a 24-hour suspension.
Saturday, April 2
• Report of an intoxicated person approaching an upstairs apartment to be let in to the downstairs suite. The person had been barred from the property as per the landlord. Police attended and the female was arrested and lodged.
• Report of a male with a garbage bag seen going underneath a deck. Police learned he was collecting empties.
• Report of a female refusing to leave a residence. Police attended and found the suspect doing dishes in the suite. The suspect was told to leave and agreed to do so.
• Report of an intoxicated male hanging around a downtown business hardly able to stand. Police later found the same male shaking his fist at traffic, stating his fist was the radar and the cars were speeding. He was arrested and lodged.
• Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after noting the vehicle was driving erratically. The driver showed signs of impairment and was therefore arrested. Once back at the detachment, the male provided breath samples that were over twice the legal limit. He was charged accordingly.
Sunday, April 3
• Report of an assault between two females. Matter is under investigation.
• Report of a male throwing a fit in his residence, disturbing the upstairs tenant. Police attended and were able to calm the male down.
• Report of a domestic disturbance between an ex-boyfriend and an ex-girlfriend. The female showed up at the male’s house and refused to leave. Police attended and the female youth was arrested and faces charges related this event.
• Report of a person concerned that a male was trying to take advantage of an elderly man by having him buy the person alcohol. Police spoke to the elderly man, who stated the subject of the complaint had done work for him and he was therefore paying for his services.
