Flin Flon RCMP Report: Calls include male entering sleeping female’s residence

A summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, Jan. 4 to Sunday, Jan. 10, as provided by the RCMP:

Monday, Jan. 4

• Three calls received regarding the same address and same parties involved. A request was made for police to locate an intoxicated male who left a residence and said he was going to sleep in a snow bank. Shortly after another call advised this same male was back at the residence causing problems. Yet another call advised the male threw his girlfriend to the floor. He was arrested and the investigation is ongoing. 

• Report of a vehicle on Bellevue stuck in a hole. Driver was unaware the street was closed, though there was signage indicating this. 

• Report of a male entering a residence while a female was sleeping two nights earlier. The female reported the matter two days later as she noted she was missing money. Investigation ongoing.

Tuesday, Jan. 5

• A mother reported that her daughter had not come home since the previous night. The mother was concerned about the people whom her daughter was spending time with. The daughter returned home a short time later.

• Report of an intoxicated male at Flin Flon General Hospital, medically cleared but very intoxicated. Police attended and attempted to find a residence for him to stay. No one was able to care for the male, so he was lodged.

• Report of a dognapping when a person left a friend’s residence with a dog in tow. Police assisted in returning the dog to its rightful owner.

Wednesday, Jan. 6

• Report of an intoxicated male calling 911 from a business payphone and requesting police. The male was too intoxicated to understand on the phone. Police attended and found two males passed out near where the call was placed. Both were arrested and lodged.

• A person turned in a Mastercraft Nailer to the detachment after finding it on their front step. The unit’s owner may attend the detachment with proof of ownership.

• A 911 call was made from a residence after the homeowner fell down the stairs and a concerned family member thought they might be hurt. Police and ambulance attended. The individual was fine and declined medical attention.

• Report of a passed-out male at a downtown business. Police attended and found the male as described. Due to high level of intoxication, he was arrested and lodged for his own safety.

Thursday, Jan. 7

• Report of a couple heard arguing in their suite. Police attended and learned the couple had gone their separate ways before police arrival.

• Report of an elderly female leaving a residence. Her son was concerned given the weather. The female returned home a short time later.

• Report of a male receiving blocked calls from a person he believed was his ex-girlfriend. Police spoke to the ex-girlfriend, who admitted to making the repeated phone calls. She was told to stop.

• Report of two males fighting in the lobby of a business. Police attended and learned one male was bugging females there, which the other male took exception to. No charges laid.

Friday, Jan. 8

• 911 call from a cell phone that sounded like a young person asking for a ride. Police called the number back and spoke to an adult female, who advised it was their adult friends playing with the phone.

• Report of an intoxicated male hanging around Flin Flon General Hospital and refusing to leave despite having no medical problem. Police attended and provided the male with a warm place to sleep.

• 911 hang-up call received. Upon call back, a male stated his wife was having a bad week but is now talking it out with a friend.

• Four calls received regarding the same persons. In the first call, a male reported that someone stole his medication. In the second call, a male stated his girlfriend assaulted him but later stated he lied and in fact fell down some stairs. The third call advised that the male from the second call said he was going to beat up the male from the first call. Both males were arrested after a call of a fight was received. One of the males also had marijuana.

Saturday, Jan. 9

• Report of a male being dropped off at Flin Flon General Hospital after being found lying on the road. The male claimed to have been assaulted but was quite intoxicated and could not say who assaulted him or where. He was treated at the hospital and then lodged.

• Report of a group of males in a person’s yard looking for a male in the residence. The crowd dispersed prior to police arrival. Police spoke to all persons involved and learned the altercation was only verbal.

• Report of an erratic driver on Highway 10. Patrols made, vehicle not located. 

• Report of an elderly woman claiming she had been locked out of her Aspen Grove residence by her grandchildren. Investigation revealed she didn’t reside there and was given a ride to her residence.

Sunday, Jan. 10

• Report of a domestic disturbance at a local hotel. A male was arrested and is facing charges of assault and failure to comply with an undertaking.

• An intoxicated male showed up at the detachment stating that he was running away from someone but was unable to tell police who. He was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Act and lodged until sober.

• Report of suicide threats on Queen Street.

• Report of a child calling 911 at an unknown location. Police tracked the call to a Tweedsmuir Street residence and found the call to be false.

• Report of an alarm at a Hill Street business. Alarm deemed false.
