A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, Jan. 25 to Sunday, Jan. 31, as provided by the RCMP:
Monday, Jan. 25
• Report from a female stating that an unknown male from next door attended her residence and tried to fight her boyfriend. The male was upset as he could hear a baby crying. Police attended and cooler heads prevailed.
• Report of a ring located in the Walmart parking lot. If this is your ring, please attend the detachment with a detailed description and, if available, any proof of purchase.
• Two reports of hit-and-runs. Neither person reporting the occurrences could be sure where the hit-and-runs occurred.
• Report of two males in a business being drunk and disorderly. Police attended and located one of the males, who was arrested and lodged.
• Report from a female that her brother had taken her credit card and used it at local bar. The card had been returned and the brother apologized; the female just wanted police to speak to her brother and let him know that what he did was wrong. A second call was received about the same brother, who was now intoxicated and causing problems in the residence. Police attended and arrested him.
• Report from a mother stating her son would not listen to her and kept saying his brother is “going to get it.” Police suggested Child and Family Services may be the more appropriate resource to contact but still attended and spoke to the mother and her son.
• Report of an intoxicated male across from a residence. Police attended but could not locate him.
Tuesday, Jan. 26
• Report of four to five intoxicated persons hanging around a downtown business. Police attended and arrested one of the males, who was then lodged.
• Report of a male passed out on the steps of a downtown business. Police attended and found the male as described. He was arrested and lodged.
• Report of a group of children throwing snowballs from a bridge. Police attended but the children had left.
Wednesday, Jan. 27
• No calls for service
Thursday, Jan. 28
• Report of suicidal male. He was located and taken to Flin Flon General Hospital under the Mental Health Act.
• While police were on an unrelated call, a very intoxicated male was spotted. Due to his high level of intoxication, he was arrested and lodged.
• Report of a collision on Main Street.
• Report of a suspicious yogurt container on the front steps of a residence. The container was filled with an orange substance not believed to be yogurt. Police attended and were able to determine the orange substance was an alcoholic beverage.
• Report of a wallet being stolen out of the clinic. Matter under investigation.
Friday, Jan. 29
• Report of a child, not properly dressed for the weather, found wandering. It was learned that the child left his residence without his babysitter knowing.
• Report of a male throwing items around a residence, and kicking a vehicle outside, after a person within the residence would not give him money. Police attended and located the male outside. He was placed under arrest. After he was under arrest, the complainant revealed the male was her young son. The male was released back to his mother and the matter was worked out between them.
• Report of a male being intoxicated and “acting up.” Police attended and found the male, whom the homeowner wanted removed from the residence. Her wish was granted.
• Report of a fight between teenage girls at the Flin Flon Bomber game. The victim did not wish to pursue charges.
• While police were transporting a prisoner to cells, they came across an intoxicated male urinating on the road. Checks on the male revealed he was bound by conditions to abstain from alcohol. He was arrested and lodged, with charges pending.
• Report of an unknown male knocking on the caller’s door. The caller asked what the male wanted and he did not respond. Police attended and made patrols, but the male was not located.
• Members patrolling the Flin Flon Bomber game lodged an intoxicated male and escorted other intoxicated persons off the premises while dumping out alcohol that was brought in.
Saturday, Jan. 30
• Report of a male trying to pick fights at a local bar. Police attended but he had already left.
• Report from a mother concerned about her intoxicated daughter as circumstances occurred that might have caused her daughter to harm herself. Police attended and spoke to the daughter, who showed no signs of wanting to harm herself.
• Report of a young female who “seemed drunk” leaving a residence. Police made patrols but were unable to locate her. It was later learned that she returned home 10 minutes after the call was received, but the caller forgot to update police.
• 911 call from an unknown number. All that was heard was someone saying, “Just hang up, he’s leaving anyways.”
• Report of a female threatening to beat up her neighbour and banging on the walls, waking up her neighbour’s children. Police attended and spoke to the subject of complaint, who was arrested and lodged. Investigation ongoing.
• Male given a common-offence notice for failing to wear his seatbelt.
• Report of an intoxicated male yelling at cars and giving them the finger. Police attended and found the male as described. He was arrested and lodged.
• Report of a taxi driver driving erratically. Caller just wanted the driver warned.
Sunday, Jan. 31
• Report of a break-and-enter at a Hapnot Street residence. Nothing appeared to be taken.
• Report of a possible stolen snowmobile on Hill Street. So far there have been no reports that this snowmobile was in fact stolen.
• Report of a pushing match between an adult brother and sister. Both parties spoken to and neither wanted charges pursued.
• Report of an unwanted guest at a residence. The unwanted guest left prior to police attendance.
