A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Monday, August 10 to Sunday, August 16:
Monday, August 10
• Report of damage to a vehicle parked on Third Avenue. Matter under investigation.
• Report of kids driving their bikes in and out of traffic on Highway 10 near Balsam Avenue. Police attended the area but the children could not be located.
• Report of an unknown male sleeping on the steps of a Main Street business. He had left prior to police arrival.
• Report of a group of intoxicated people on Church Street. Police attended the area and two females were located.
Tuesday, August 11
• Report of a domestic disturbance on Hudson Street. Investigation revealed nothing physical had occurred. A female was provided with a ride to a friend’s house for the night.
• Police responded to a complaint of an elderly male who appeared to be confused and driving on Third Avenue. Police located the vehicle and the male was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital for an assessment.
• Complaint of damage to a vehicle caused by a runaway shopping cart at the Flintoba Shopping Centre.
• Report of a vacuum cleaner stolen from a Church Street yard. The complainant later called back and forgot that she had sold the vacuum cleaner.
• Report of a group of intoxicated people causing a disturbance on Hapnot Street. Three females and a male were arrested and lodged for the night.
Wednesday, August 12
• Report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a local hotel. He was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of an assault at a South Hudson Street residence. Investigation revealed it was a consensual fight between a mother and a daughter.
• Report of prank phone calls being made through 911. Investigation revealed that a nine-year-old child at Aspen Grove made the calls.
• Report of loud noises being heard on the Aqua Centre roof. Police attended the area and investigation revealed a 10-year-old child had climbed onto the roof on the gas line pipes.
Thursday, August 13
• Report of an assault in progress on Third Avenue. An intoxicated male was arrested on scene and charged with assault and failing to comply with conditions. He was remanded in custody.
• Report of a broken window at École McIsaac School. No suspects at this time.
• Report of a male who walked into a North Avenue residence and stole a PlayStation 4. A 14-year-old youth was located a short time later with the video game system in his possession.
• Report of a fight between two males on Main Street. Investigation revealed an intoxicated male refused to quit disturbing the other. The intoxicated male was on conditions to abstain from alcohol. He was arrested and lodged until sober.
• Report of two young children walking on North Avenue without shoes. Police attended the area and located the two at their residence with the mother.
Friday, August 14
• Report of a fight between two males on Church Street. Investigation revealed nothing physical happened, only a rather heated debate.
• Report of an intoxicated male at a Third Avenue business. Police attended and arrested the intoxicated male, who had been arrested the previous day for failing to comply by his conditions. He was remanded in custody.
• Report of an intoxicated male on Main Street. He was arrested, transported to Flin Flon General Hospital for an assessment and then lodged until sober.
Saturday, August 15
• Police dispatched to a Kingsway Boulevard residence for a possible break-and-enter in progress. The complainant reported that when she entered her locked residence, she heard footsteps on the stairs. Police cleared the residence and no signs of entry were observed, nor was anything disturbed or missing.
• Report of children under the age of 10 who were crawling on vehicles and making lots of noises. An anonymous complainant believed the children should be in bed by now. Police attended and spoke to a group of children.
Sunday, August 16
• Police called to Boam Street for an intoxicated male passed out in the rain. Police attended and located the male. He was lodged until sober.
• Report of a suspicious person wearing all black and carrying a big rock on South Main Street. Police attended and conducted lengthy patrols but the person was not located.
• Report of a bicycle theft at the Flintoba Shopping Centre. A 14-year-old youth was later found to have possession of the bike. The bike was returned to its rightful owner.
