A condensed summary of calls to the Flin Flon RCMP for the period of Tuesday, Feb. 9 to Monday, Feb. 15, as provided by the RCMP:
Tuesday, Feb. 2
• Report of two unknown males walking around a downtown residence. They began banging on the complainant’s door. When he complainant told the males to get lost (in less friendly terms), they left.
• Report of a disturbance at a residence. Police attended and learned a fight broke out between former friends. Neither party wanted to pursue charges.
Wednesday, Feb. 10
• Numerous calls received of an intoxicated male on the Fourth Avenue bridge. Police attended the scene, subsequently arresting and lodging the male.
• Multiple calls received regarding the same male. First he was causing a disturbance and scaring staff and customers at a downtown business. Then he was reported for being intoxicated. Lastly came a report that he was in a downtown bar quenching his thirst. He was arrested and lodged.
• Report of a pushing match between a mother and daughter. Police attended and both family members were arrested and lodged for causing a disturbance.
Thursday, Feb. 11
• Report of an erratic driver who had parked at a local grocery store. Police attended and spoke to the driver. It was learned the driver had just obtained a learner’s per-mit. The driver was advised to keep practising.
Friday, Feb. 12
• Report of a male sleeping under the Flin Flon General Hospital. Police attended and located the male, who was noticeably intoxicated. Given the cold weather, he was arrested and lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
• Report of a possible fire at a Flin Flon residence. Police, fire and ambulance attended and learned there was no fire, just smoke from a faulty toaster.
• A traffic stop ended with a male being charged with driving an unregistered vehicle and driving while disqualified. Both charges were under the provincial Highway Traffic Act. The driver had tried to evade police by parking behind the court office, so he had a short walk to appear for the tickets issued.
• Report of an individual withholding a person’s keys from her. Police attended and dealt with the matter, and when updating the complainant learned she had her keys returned in the afternoon and just forgot to inform police.
Saturday, Feb. 13
• A female called reporting that her brother had assaulted her. Shortly thereafter, the brother called reporting his sister had assaulted him and was causing a scene in a residence. Police attended and determined the brother was the issue, and he was therefore arrested and lodged. The sister
did not wish for charges to be laid.
• Report of a male passed out on the steps of a downtown business. Police attended and found the male as described. He was arrested and lodged.
• Report of a hit-and-run at a local restaurant.
• Police asked to assist Child and Family Services in investigating a complaint they received. Police attended and kept the peace.
• Report of a fight in progress on Main Street. Police attended and located the intoxicated victim along with his two intoxicated friends. All three were arrested due to their intoxication levels. While transporting the victim to cells, he pointed out a female he said assaulted him. She was arrested as well. All four were taken to cells and lodged. The victim did not wish for charges to be laid in relation to the assault.
• Report of a male believed to be breaching a no-contact condition of his probation order. He was seen in Flin Flon, where the person whom he is not to contact lives. No evidence to support a breach had occurred.
• Report of an intoxicated male banging on the door of a residence. The homeowner did not want him there, so he was arrested and lodged.
• Report received under the Mental Health Act in which a male was arrested and had to be lodged due to his intoxication level.
Sunday, Feb. 14
• Report of a break-and-enter at a Ross Street residence. Investigation is ongoing.
• Report of groceries being stolen from the rear of a truck while it was parked on Main Street. Investigation is ongoing.
Monday, Feb. 15
• Report of a break-and-enter at a Main Street residence. Investigation is ongoing.
• Report of a missing elderly male last seen on Highway 10A. He was located a short time later, safe and sound.
• Two calls received of an intoxicated male sleeping in the ATM vestibule of a local bank. He was transported to Flin Flon General Hospital due to his intoxication level. A relative agreed to care for him.
