A summary of calls received by police between Jan. 19-25, as submitted by Flin Flon RCMP:
Jan. 19
Report of an intoxicated person showing up at a residence attempting to fight people. The subject of complaint was being restrained. Police attended and arrested and lodged the subject of complaint.
Police responded to an open line 911 complaint where they were met by an intoxicated person who had just finished watching the UFC fights. This person identified themselves by the last name of McGregor, but did not have the cool strut. The parents of the wannabe Irishman advised they would keep an eye on him.
Report of a person intentionally taking medication in an apparent attempt at self-harm. The person was located and taken to hospital, where they were treated and released.
Report of an intoxicated person passed out at the entrance of the hospital. Police attended and located the person as described, who was arrested and lodged
Report of a person stealing liquor from the liquor store. Matter is under investigation.
Report of an intoxicated person at the hospital expressing ideations of self-harm, however they were too intoxicated to be properly assessed. Police attended and located the subject of complaint who was arrested and lodged.
Report of an unwanted person in a residence refusing to leave. Police attended and located the unwanted person still on scene. The person was arrested and lodged.
Jan. 20
While on patrol, members located two persons sleeping in the ATM vestibule of a financial institution. Both were intoxicated and had no other place to go, therefore both were arrested and lodged.
Report of a person believed to be intoxicated talking about hitchhiking to Prince Albert. Police attended and found the person was actually not intoxicated. The person was warned of the dangers of hitchhiking. Approximately an hour later, this same person was found intoxicated and passed out in a bank. The person was then arrested and lodged.
Report of people fighting in front of a local business. Police attended and found that it was only a verbal dispute.
Report of an intoxicated person sleeping on the sidewalk in front of a business. Police attended and located the person as described, who was arrested and lodged.
Report of a possible theft of a cell phone.
While on patrol, police came into contact with a very intoxicated person who did not have a sober person to look after them. The person was subsequently arrested and lodged.
While on patrol, police located an intoxicated person sleeping on floor of an ATM vestibule at a local bank. The person was arrested and lodged.
Jan. 21
Report of a group of people walking while wearing dark clothing. The person thought this was suspicious ...but really, pastel colours are a fashion faux-pas in the winter, are they not?
Report of a person screaming in a local grocery store. Police attended but the irate customer had since left.
Report of an intoxicated person sleeping in the local library. Police attended and located the person as described who was arrested and lodged.
Report of an alleged domestic assault in a local store’s parking lot. Matter is under investigation.
Report of a couple arguing on Main Street. Police attended and shooed the couple away.
Report of two intoxicated people bothering people in the hospital waiting room. Police attended and both were gone already.
Report of a truck stuck on the road impeding traffic. Police attended and the truck was moved.
Jan. 22
Report of a person attempting to break into a residence.
While on patrol, police located two people sleeping in an ATM vestibule. Both were intoxicated with no place to go, therefore both were arrested and lodged.
Report of a theft and fraud involving an employee using their company credit card. Matter is under investigation.
Jan. 23
Report of a couple arguing in the street. Police attended, however they seemed to take their argument elsewhere.
Report of a gaggle of intoxicated people hanging out in a business. Police attended, however the gaggle was gone.
Report of an intoxicated person sleeping in the lobby of a local hostel. Police attended and were able to drive the subject of complaint to a sober relative.
Report of an intoxicated person possibly in medical distress. Police attended and are well familiar with the person and their apparent medical issues, therefore they were taken to hospital. Once at the hospital, this person damaged a piece of medical equipment. The person is to be charged for the damage done.
Report of an intoxicated person yelling in a residence. Police attended and the homeowner wanted the person removed. As the subject of complaint could not provide another place they could go, they were arrested and lodged.
While on patrol, police came into contact with two people physically fighting. Police took the aggressor into custody and arrested and lodged them.
Report of intoxicated people in an apartment building. Police attended and learned the less intoxicated person was helping their friend back to their room.
Report of intoxicated people breaking a window at a local hostel. Police attended and arrested the window breaker. While on scene, another male was found to be on warrant status for charges out of Thompson. Both males were taken into custody. The window breaker is not to be charged and the person on the warrant was released with a future court date.
Jan. 24
While on patrol, police located a very intoxicated person stumbling down Main Street. Given their advanced state of intoxication, the person was arrested and lodged.
Report of an erratic driver driving how you would expect an erratic driver to drive.
Report of a group of people bugging pedestrians for change and being a general nuisance. Police attended and told the group to make like a banana and get out of here (or something like that.)
Report of a vehicle swerving all over the road. Police located the suspect vehicle and determined the person’s licence should likely be reviewed due to medical factors.
Report of a family dispute where an intoxicated parent was arguing with their adult child. The parent left while the caller was on the phone with dispatch.
Report of intoxicated person laying in a snowbank. Police attended and found the subject of complaint was now inside a residence being tended to by sober adults.
Report of two intoxicated people causing a disturbance outside a local sandwich shop. Police attended and found the subjects of complaint still on scene. Both were arrested and lodged.
While on patrol, police located two very intoxicated people. Both were too intoxicated to care for themselves or one another and had no place to go. Police arrested both and lodged both.
Report of an intoxicated person in a bar who possibly had a weapon on them. Police attended but learned the person was gone. Unknown description of the suspect and what the knife looked like.
Report of a person at the hospital intoxicated but leaving before being seen by medical staff. The person later came back on their own.
Report of intoxicated people at a local store being escorted out as they were causing a disturbance. Police attended and located the person still on scene. They were arrested and lodged and were not very happy about it.
Jan. 25
Report of a disturbance in a local licenced establishment where one patron allegedly tried to assault another with a small stop sign. The almost victim didn’t actually make the complaint. Police attended and the disturbance had “stopped”……get it?
Report of an intoxicated parent going to their child’s residence, causing a disturbance, and refusing to leave. Police attended and located the subject of complaint still on scene. The parent was arrested and lodged.
Report of a domestic assault. Matter is under investigation.
Report of a person breaching their no contact order via email. It was learned that the complainant was also initiating contact with the suspect, therefore no charges are laid.
Report of a break and enter to a garage.
Report of an irate intoxicated person demanding to be served at a local business. Police located the subject of complaint trying to start a fight with a person uptown. The person was taken into custody and lodged.
While on patrol, police located a very intoxicated person sitting in an ATM vestibule. As the person had no other place to go, he was arrested and lodged.
Report of two intoxicated people causing a disturbance near a local sandwich shop. Police attended and located both persons. Both were arrested. One was taken to cells and the other was dropped off with sober family members.
