During the past week local RCMP have attended to numerous complaints of assaults ranging from possible spousal assaults to children fighting. These matters were dealt with individually depending on the severity of each. Some individuals were referred to counselling, the children were spoken to about the seriousness of their actions, and one adult female was charged. There were four false alarm calls to local businesses. Numerous accident reports were filed. Police responded to numerous complaints regarding youth. Two young boys were taken to the hospital after having consumed liquor. There was a complaint of kids throwing snowballs, and also of kids kicking a vehicle. Although these complaints may seem like harmless pranks to some ? there is the possibility of alcohol poisoning, damage or injury caused by snowballs, and vandalism to vehicles. Parents should talk to their children about the above mentioned incidents and let them know that they are not harmless pranks. Talk to your children about where they are going, who they are with, what they are doing, and set a curfew for when they should be home. Police also followed numerous leads into the whereabouts of a runaway 14-year-old girl. She did return home safely. Early on Tuesday morning the Whitney Forum and the Uptown Curling Club were broken into. Police are still investigating this matter. Remember to drive carefully and have a safe Halloween.
