RCMP are releasing few details as they investigate a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in Flin Flon in July but was not reported until last week.
The incident involves an adult male accused of sexually assaulting a female youth at an undisclosed indoor location. Their ages were not released.
RCMP spokesman Bert Paquet said the alleged victim and perpetrator knew each other, but he would not describe the nature of their relationship.
Nor could he provide any detail around the nature of the complaint. Sexual assault is a broad term that involves assaults of a sexual nature that violate the sexual integrity of the victim.
“This matter was just received and is still under investigation,” Paquet said.
At this time, police are not seeking information from the public as part of their ongoing investigation.
No other details were released. Police fielded the complaint on Friday, Sept. 18.
