The Flin Flon Public Library really got into the holiday spirit, and it showed.
The library won the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce’s first-ever Your Business Shines a Light on Christmas contest.
Sponsored by Manitoba Hydro, the contest invited businesses and public facilities to decorate their premises for a chance at a certificate along with lighted gift boxes and a decorative lamppost.
The public voted for their favourites, with a chamber committee selecting the winner from the top-five vote-getters.
Honourable mentions went to Northern Rainbow’s End, Community Futures Greenstone, Flin Flon Station Museum and the Town of Creighton.
The contest replaced the chamber’s previous Christmas contest, which handed out prizes for both residential and commercial displays.
