In the past week there have been a few break and enters. From a garage in the Birchview area, a stereo, keys and beer were taken. From the South Hudson area a cheque was stolen from inside a residence. There were two break and enters in the uptown area. From one residence, over 100 DVD's were taken, along with stereo components and loose change. From a second residence a 27" TV and liquor were taken. Try to make your home look lived in. If you are going away, set your interior lights on timers ? for times that you would normally have them on if you were at home. Have a neighbour collect your mail. Ask a neighbour to drive in and out of your driveway a few times if there is fresh snowfall. Numerous reports of assaults came in during the past week. Three separate assaults at three different residences. Police also received calls of trespassing, two false alarms at local businesses, a call to assist mental health, willful damage, a jackknifed semi truck on Sipple Hill, two hit and runs, parking complaints, noisy parties and numerous accidents.
