The Flin Flon General Hospital and Personal Care Home will share in government funding to upgrade health-care facilities.
Health Minister Sharon Blady this week announced more than $450,000 for 11 projects within the Northern Health Region.
Among them:
• flooring, ceiling system and lighting replacement, carpet removal, terrazzo floor restoration and a water filtration system at the Flin Flon General Hospital;
• tub replacement at the Flin Flon Personal Care Home;
• lighting retrofits, main sewer stack and sewer line repairs, parking lot lights, parking lot plugs and supply water boosters at The Pas Health Complex; and
• a sewage lift station at the Thompson General Hospital.
“Every year, we work with the regional health authorities to support projects that help maintain and improve the health-care facilities throughout the province,” said Blady.
“This helps keep our buildings healthy and safe so providers can continue to provide quality care to Manitobans when they need it.”
Work on the projects is scheduled for completion in the next two years, Blady said.
