Grocery shopping just got easier for seniors and parents.

North of 53 Consumers Co-op and Eddie’s Family Foods each have a special shopping cart with a seat that can accommodate individuals up to 250 pounds.

The Flin Flon Lions Club, which donated the units last week, hopes the carts will be used by mobility challenged seniors.

The units, known as Caroline’s Carts, are also designed to accommodate special-needs children.

The carts feature a wide plastic seat with buckles, along with a brake. The “passenger” faces the individual who is pushing the cart.

The Lions spent about $2,000 for the carts, which arrived at the stores last Monday, April 27.
