Flin Flon Bombers inviting ladies to a fun evening out

Three impersonators will take the stage on Friday, October 2, as the Flin Flon Bombers host Ladies Night, an annual fundraiser for the team.

“We decided to change it up,” says Leanna Campbell, office administrator for the Bombers.

In recent years, the organization has hired comedians for the entertainment. Campbell says organizers are shaking things up with three acts for this year’s show: impersonations of Shania Twain, Lady Gaga and Marilyn Monroe.

“It’s kind of a mixture for everybody,” says Campbell.

Friday’s entertainment will also include tarot card readings, dancing, karaoke and a catered dinner served by members of the team.

Mike Reagan, head coach and general manager of the Bombers, says the team has hosted Ladies Night for 10-plus years as a public outreach event, a fundraiser and a fun night out for women.

“It never hurts for some people to meet the guys and see that they are nice guys and trying to be a part of the community,” Reagan said.

The Bombers have been involved in other community events in the past month through their street hockey event at Culture Days last weekend, and by serving appetizers and performing on stage at Bollywood, last week’s ER fundraiser.

Sixteen tables of eight had been booked for Ladies Night as of Friday, Sept. 25. Tickets, which are $55, can be purchased through the Bombers office.

Campbell says she is considering planning another Bombers night out later in the year – one that would be open to both women and men.
