Vivid local scenes, captured by the community’s own shutterbugs, will take centre stage at the NorVA Centre this month.
This Friday, Jan. 15 at
7 pm at NorVA, the Flin Flon Photo Club will host an opening night to launch an exhibit of photography created by their members.
The exhibit will be on display at NorVA until the end of January, and will feature work by local photographers in several categories, including portraiture, sports and wildlife.
Some of the exhibited pieces have been entered into a competition for club members, with artwork to be assessed by a panel of local judges.
Bruce Reid, print show chairman, says more than 50 photos had been entered into the competition as of Monday night.
The winners will be announced at Friday’s event.
Visitors to the exhibit can also weigh in on the competition by voting for their favourite piece for the people’s choice award. Votes will be tallied at the end of the month.
The Flin Flon Photo Club meets twice a month at NorVA.
