Community organizations have until May 8 to apply for funding from the Tri-Service Club.

Made up of the Kinsmen Club, Lions Club and Rotary Club, Tri-Service has dollars available from its Million Dollar Hole In One fundraiser.

Rotarian Lois (Bunny) Burke says applications are open to anyone, but there are stipulations for who will receive funding.

Burke says applications must be for projects that will benefit the community, rather than for operating costs for an organization.

Last year, Tri-Service split the Hole In One dollars between Habitat 53° and the Denare Beach Yacht and Cattleman’s Association.

Previous proceeds from the Hole In One have benefitted numerous organizations, including the Women’s Resource Centre with funds of up to $5,000.

Proceeds are also used to provide an annual high school bursary of $1,000.

The deadline for applications this year is May 8.

This year’s Million Dollar Hole In One will begin on July 14 at the former soccer pitch above Foster Park’s new soccer pitch.

The finals for the weeklong tournament will take place at the Phantom Lake Golf Course.

Burke says the tournament is a busy time of year and the Tri-Service Club would appreciate any help available.
