To have five generations of a single family together is an amazing circumstance; for those generations to be represented in a single community, even more so. When Nolan Rideout was born in July, he became the fifth branch in a family tree with firm Flin Flon roots. Nolan was welcomed to the world by his father, Travis Rideout; grandmother Ronna Rideout; great-grandmother Donna Nelson; and great-great-grandmother Villa Emery. "Five generations is unique, and to have them all living in the same community is actually quite exciting," says Donna. The Rideout family came to Flin Flon from Saskatchewan in 1945, when Donna's father established a construction company that would erect buildings throughout Northern Manitoba.
