Overall production at HBMS mines increased by nearly five per cent in the first quarter of 2005 compared to the same time period the previous year. Leading the way was the 777 mine, which produced 243,248 tonnes of ore, up from 237,304 the first quarter of 2004. The Trout Lake mine produced 213,055 tonnes compared to 203,723 in the same period last year. Chisel North in Snow Lake saw an increase as well, going from 81,923 to 86,545. Konuto Lake, meanwhile, produced 87,062 tonnes, up from 80,748. HudBay Minerals Inc., which purchased HBMS last December, recently released this and other first-quarter information.
