Investigators say an improper use of heaters sparked a recent fire that destroyed the lone school on the northern reservation of Moose Lake, CBC reports. "The cause has been determined to be misuse of construction heaters, like baseboard heaters," RCMP Const. Russell Jackson told CBC. "They had them tied up under the shed, under the roof, and they were running full-bore throughout the winter, which caused the wiring in the heaters to overheat and cause the fire." The fire, which occurred last Saturday, reportedly caused $4 million in damages and left over 300 students without a place to attend class. Moose Lake is about 100 kilometres west of The Pas.
