Cancer can be a frightening opponent, but the battle against this menace has been bolstered in northern Manitoba. Earlier this year, the Canadian Cancer Society named Krystle Robinson of The Pas as its representative for the region. "I'll be working as a liaison for the Canadian Cancer Society and will be available for things like health fairs and community events," she told The Opasquia Times. "I'll also be involved with the delivery and coordination of programs like the SunSense program to promote education about taking care in the sun, as well as promoting new initiatives like the testicular cancer awareness campaign for young men." Robinson will also help connect residents with cancer support services, including transportation, financial help and peer support, and provide cancer information to schools and the general public. Anyone interested in more information, or in volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society, can contact Robinson at (204) 620-2117 or [email protected].
