The annual Flin Flon Christmas Luncheon was held December 6, 2003 in Winnipeg at the Viscount Gort Hotel. Our room was decorated in the spirit of the holiday season and 122 Flin Flonners came to enjoy the festive luncheon. The day was filled with stories, carols and wonderful door prizes. It was a day filled with old friendships and new. All had a fun time, of course because Flin Flonners love getting together. Our guests from out of town included Kathleen Delgatty and Eileen Paylor from Flin Flon, Norma (Tweedie) and Cal Bristol, Darcy Plante, Doug Delgatty, Wilda Kirbyison from Brandon, MLA Gerard Jennissen from Cranberry Portage, and Tom Barrow from Calgary. Tom is engaged to Margie (Bolton) Dempsey. Everyone sang "For they're a jolly good fellows" and thanked Margie for all her efforts in making the Flin Flon lunches so enjoyable and so much fun for all of us. She has worked very hard to make these get-togethers a happy reunion. We appreciate her concern for each and every one of us and her determination to make our Flin Flon lunches a positive and upbeat monthly meeting. We will all miss her but wish her and Tom every happiness in their new life together starting on Vancouver Island and carrying on to Mexico in winter, Flin Flon in summer and wherever else they may travel. Our next luncheon will be held Friday March 5, 2004. The doors open at 11:00 a.m. with the buffet lunch at 12:00 p.m.12/15/2003
