Residents are invited to get into the Christmas spirit with an entry in the upcoming Festival of Trees.
Entries are being accepted in three categories: trees, wreathes and centrepieces. This year’s theme is “Sounds of Christmas.”
“That could be anything from children laughing to your favourite Christmas carol,” notes Laurel Mackie, chair of the festival.
Any individual, group or organization is welcome to enter an item.
The deadline to commit to an entry is Nov. 12. Registration forms are available on Facebook (search for “CADAC Festival of Trees”) or by calling the CADAC Centre at 306-688-8291.
As in past years, all entries will be on public display at the festival, which runs Nov. 28 and 29 in the Creighton Community School gymnasium.
Visitors to the festival will bid on each item, with proceeds supporting substance abuse prevention and counselling programs through the CADAC Centre.
The Eighth Annual Festival of Trees will also feature a range of crafts and other wares. It will coincide with a tea and a breakfast with Santa event put on by members of the Creighton Community School graduating class.
