A 20-year-old man has perished after the snowmobile he was riding slammed into the front stairs of a residence in Pukatawagan. Shortly before midnight last Saturday, Jan. 12, Mounties were dispatched to the scene of a single snowmobile collision on the northern reserve. RCMP learned that the sole rider and operator, a Pukatawagan man, was in critical condition after being transported to the local nursing station and then airlifted to Winnipeg for further treatment. This past Monday, Jan. 14, he succumbed to his injuries. Excessive speed Police said their early investigation shows the rider was operating the snowmobile at excessive speeds on the roadway when he lost control and collided with the front stairs of a residence. Their investigation continues with speed and the rider's lack of helmet considered contributing factors.
