Flin Flon's newest grocery store will open in just one week, a couple of days earlier than was originally announced. Extra Foods at the Flintoba Shopping Centre will open its doors at 9 a.m. next Tuesday, February 10, a spokesperson said yesterday. "It just worked out better with our scheduling. We're going to be ready," said Lori Stene, director of public affairs for the grocer's parent company, Westfair Foods. The store will host an invitation-only reception with community members the day prior to the opening. Construction on the new store began last summer. Winnipeg-based Dominion Construction was awarded the tender. Staff for the store, which will focus on groceries but will also include a pharmacy, photo lab and general merchandise department, were hired in mid-December. Westfair Foods, which is based in Calgary, also owns Real Canadian Superstore.
