Popular Metis musician Longbottom got plenty of knees bobbing in town yesterday. The native of Selkirk shared his vibrant music with elementary school students well as the youngsters of Aboriginal Head Start program based in the Friendship Centre. "Flin Flon is a pretty town and I'm really enjoying it," said Longbottom, who drops his first name, Ted, while performing. With two CDs and frequent radio play under his belt, Longbottom said he still enjoys sharing his music with smaller communities. This was his first trip to Flin Flon. "My music is all about aboriginal and Manitoba history," noted the entertainer. Much has been written about Longbottom's talents. CBC Radio host Philly Markowitz once exclaimed, "I have a feeling we've just heard a future Canadian legend."
