Jonathon Naylor Editor Students and staff returning to class will notice a number of enhancements at Flin Flon schools. At the first school board meeting of the 2012-13 academic year, held Tuesday, Superintendent Blaine Veitch outlined projects completed over the summer. The largest of the four schools, Ecole McIsaac School, saw its exterior completed painted. Railings and the parking area also got a fresh coat of paint. Inside McIsaac, lunch tables were installed in the gymnasium and the office counter was removed with the floor tiled. At Hapnot Collegiate, new surveillance cameras were installed while railings and the front logo were painted. New entrance doors were also installed. Ruth Betts Community School underwent more extensive work, including interior painting and the painting of the external doors. Tables and benches were installed at the K-8 school, with a music room storage facility built. As well, a Grade 7 classroom was renovated, lunch room cupboards were established and a number of new windows were installed. At Many Faces Education Centre, surveillance cameras were put in place. The first day of classes in Flin Flon will be this Wednesday, Sept. 5. At Creighton Community School, classes start a day earlier, on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
